The Forgotten Server (TFS) is an open-source MMORPG server engine, originally created for the Tibia community. Written in C++, it stands among the most stable, reliable, and widely used server frameworks for Open Tibia (OT) projects.
Version 1.4.1 represents one of the modern generations of TFS, bringing several major improvements and features:

Tibia 10.98 protocol support – ensuring full compatibility with OTClients built for that version.
Performance and stability – optimized CPU and memory usage, resulting in fewer lags even under high load.
Extended Lua API system – developers can script nearly everything in Lua: from spells, events, and bosses to complex economy systems.
Modularity – every core system (spells, actions, movements, talkactions, creaturescripts, etc.) is independently configurable and fully extensible.
Modern SQL integration – all player data, accounts, guilds, markets, and quests are stored in databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, or SQLite.

TFS acts as the server engine, processing every in-game event — from player movement and combat damage to loot generation and world interactions.
Think of it as the engine under the hood of a car: players never see it directly, but nothing would run without it.
